DOGS I provide a range of dog grooming services including bathing and blow-dry/fluff dry, de-shedding, and nail trimming, full grooms, face and foot trims. Each session is tailored to meet the unique needs of your dog in consultation with you. My aim is to ensure your dog looks and feels their best, so they can head out and enjoy their doggy life!
CATS I can also groom cats. Cats will not routinely be bathed as they don't need it; they keep themselves clean through grooming themselves naturally, though occasionally a cat may need bathing, for example for a medical or hygiene reason. In general, a cat groom is for long-haired breeds whose hair may need brushing or for removal of knots or mats.
I am located on Burnley Road in Mytholmroyd, about 100m from the Asda filling station, and opposite the Burnley Road School field, at 35 White Houses, Mytholmroyd HX7 5AB. I welcome drop-ins - if you see the Open sign up, just pop in.
A typical full groom session with a bath and haircut lasts between 2 and 3 hours, depending on the size and breed of your dog and their health as well as the specific services requested. Because it's 1-to-1, I do my very best to ensure a relaxed and stress-free environment to keep your dog comfortable, especially helpful for nervous dogs or older dogs.
I use high-quality, vegan pet-specific products designed to enhance your dog's coat and skin health. The selection includes hypoallergenic vegan shampoos and conditioners, ensuring a gentle and effective grooming experience. I can use a prescription medicated shampoo if you have one supplied by your vet for a skin condition.
Yes, I definitely encourage prospective clients to visit, so you and your dog can meet me and see the grooming parlour, and I can assess your dog's coat length and condition. Please contact me to schedule a visit, and I will be happy to show you around and answer any questions you may have. You can also drop in if you see the Open sign.
I am a City & Guilds Level 2 qualified dog groomer, trained at the superb Look North Dog Grooming school in Keighley. I also have a certificate in canine first aid, and am fully insured.
Yes, I am a fully insured pet groomer.
Here are the grooming services I currently offer, with indicative prices. Price may vary depending on whether your dog has any additional needs, such as for obese dogs who have difficultly standing for long, or elderly dogs who may need adjustments to the grooming process to keep them comfortable.
Note about behaviour: The prices shown are for dogs who are accustomed to being groomed and are well behaved and non-aggressive. Dogs who are nervous aggressive or extremely anxious - please call to discuss as it may be necessary to adjust the expectations of the groom or include additional introductory sessions to ease the dog into the grooming situation.
Note about condition: the prices shown are for dogs who have been regularly groomed according to a professional grooming schedule, whose coats have been maintained by their owners between grooms, and whose coats are therefore in good condition, without matting or extensive knots. For dogs whose coat has become matted, there may be a need to extend the grooming session, shaving off the coat may be necessary and price may increase. In this situation there is additional risk to the dog. Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 the wellbeing of the dog is the most important consideration in the grooming situation and extensive brushing out of matts in the coat is prohibited for welfare reasons. Please call to discuss what is needed for your dog.

Pop your young puppy (during their crucial socialisation period from vaccinations upto age 18 weeks) into the parlour to get used to the sights, smells and sounds of grooming. This visit is completely free (I get to meet your puppy - bonus!) and no obligation even if you have another groomer closer to home. All experience is good experience for your youngster.
(An intro session is available to long-haired kittens, too, if they will require regular grooming. As with dogs, the younger a cat is introduced to the sensations of grooming, the more relaxed they'll be when they grow up and need regular brushing. Please get in touch to arrange.)
Booking an appointment is easy! Simply contact me by phone on 07561366936, email on wagcentraldogs@gmail.com, or use the website's contact form. You can let me know your preferred dates and tell me what you are looking for, and we can arrange a meet-and-greet as needed.
